For old-school TV trays with a folding design, the Amazon Basics four-packs are the best fit for households that want several matching tables and a storage rack. Choose the natural finish for a lighter traditional look, espresso for a darker wood tone, or black for a simple modern color. The HOOBRO set is better for shoppers who want two compact side tables with metal frames, while the oak tray suits buyers seeking a single table with a walnut finish.

Best for: Households that need multiple trays for meals, work, or activities and prefer a light wood tone. It was selected for its four-table set and included rack, which give buyers a straightforward way to store the trays together.
Keep in mind: The listed tray surface is 14.6 by 19 inches, so check that this size suits the dishes or items you plan to use.
Amazon Basics Espresso TV Tray Four-Pack
This four-pack has an espresso finish and comes with a matching rack. The trays measure 14.6 by 19 by 26 inches. They are described as folding flat for space-saving storage and as useful for eating, working, or drawing and hobbies.
Best for: Buyers who want several coordinated TV trays in a dark finish. It offers the same listed dimensions and storage setup as the natural version, so the main comparison is appearance.
Keep in mind: The product description does not provide a different size or function from the natural set. Choose based on the finish and the need for four tables.
HOOBRO Rustic Brown Folding Tray Set
HOOBRO’s set includes two folding tables made with particle board and metal. Each table measures 18.9 inches long, 14.2 inches wide, and 26.2 inches high. The product details describe them as portable and suitable for snacks, drinks, and even a laptop.
Best for: Shoppers who want two tables with a rustic brown and black look, or who prefer the listed larger surface dimensions to the Amazon Basics trays. Its metal frame and two-table format distinguish it from the four-packs.
Keep in mind: The listed materials include particle board, and the product information does not mention a matching storage rack. Avoid this option if a rack is a priority.
Oak Folding TV Tray With Walnut Finish
This tray is described as solid oak with a walnut finish. Its folding design is intended to make storage easier when it is not in use. The listed uses include dining, snacking, and working while watching TV.
Best for: Buyers looking for a single tray with a classic wood description and a walnut-colored finish. It was selected as the one-table option among products that mostly come in sets.
Keep in mind: The supplied product details do not specify dimensions or include a storage rack. Confirm the size and storage arrangements meet your needs before choosing it.
Amazon Basics Black TV Tray Four-Pack
This set provides four black folding trays and a matching storage rack. The listed size is 15 by 19 by 26 inches. The product features say the tables fold flat and can serve as TV dinner trays, small work surfaces, or spaces for drawing and hobbies.
Best for: Buyers who need four tables and prefer a black finish. Compared with the natural and espresso sets, this model has a slightly different listed length and is the only black option in this group.
Keep in mind: The product details do not describe the finish as wood-toned. Choose another option if a traditional natural or brown appearance is more important.
Buying Guide: How to Choose Old-School TV Trays
How many trays do you need?
Start with the number of people who will use a table at the same time. The Amazon Basics options provide four trays and a matching rack. HOOBRO is a set of two, while the oak product is listed as a single tray. A larger set may suit shared meals or activities; a single table can be a simpler fit when only one is needed.
Which finish fits your room?
Compare the listed finishes with your furniture and preferred style. Natural offers a lighter look, espresso is darker, and the black set provides a non-wood-toned option. HOOBRO combines rustic brown surfaces with black metal framing. The oak tray is described with a walnut finish.
What size and storage details matter?
Check the listed dimensions against the items you expect to place on the table. The Amazon Basics natural and espresso models are 14.6 by 19 by 26 inches; the black model is listed as 15 by 19 by 26 inches. HOOBRO lists 18.9 by 14.2 by 26.2 inches. Only the Amazon Basics four-packs specify an included matching rack.
What will you use the tray for?
For meals and snacks, consider whether the surface dimensions fit your usual dishes. If you also need a spot for a laptop, drawing, or hobbies, the Amazon Basics descriptions mention work and play uses, while HOOBRO specifically lists space for a laptop. The oak tray is described for dining, snacking, and working, but its dimensions are not provided here.
